Searching for FRB counterparts in Swift-BAT data

This project delves into the intriguing phenomenon of Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs), their mysterious origins, and potential astrophysical connections. Utilizing data from the Swift-BAT satellite, the study aimed to identify X-ray counterparts to FRBs, focusing specifically on FRB 20171209A. By employing advanced data analysis techniques and exploring magnetar flare models, this research sheds light on one of astronomy’s greatest mysteries. While no X-ray detections were found, the project establishes constraints on X-ray emissions and paves the way for future investigations into the enigmatic nature of FRBs.
